Impressive charge by Ahumada Jr. at Vado
Carlos Ahumada Jr. and his Hacienda Motorsports team competed at their home track of Vado (New Mexico) Speedway Park on Saturday during Fireworks Night.
Ahumada didn’t run his heat race at the 3/8-mile oval, meaning he started shotgun on the 27-car USRA Modified field in the 25-lap feature. He quickly stormed past competitors in his Hacienda Mechanical Inc. No. 65x and entered the top 10 on the 20th circuit.
He ran as high as sixth in the closing laps and came home in the seventh spot, a staggering 20 positions ahead of where he began the race.
