Diercks caps off Fourth of July weekend with podium run at Dubuque

Spencer Diercks kicked off his Fourth of July weekend on Friday afternoon with a pair of starts in Illinois before wrapping up the tripleheader on Sunday in Iowa.

Aboard his Rockstar Energy Drink No. 29 Late Model on Friday evening at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), Spencer started the night strong as he drove to second in his heat but ended up pulling off early in the feature.

At Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on Saturday, Diercks squeezed into the $2,500-to-win FALS Cup with a fourth-place finish in his heat. He was scored 14th in the rundown after retiring on lap 21.

In the Ryan Duhme-owned No. 21 Modified on Sunday at Dubuque Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa), Spencer followed up a heat race win with a seventh-to-third run in the 20-lap feature. He joined Jed Freiburger and Dustin Wilwert on the podium.
