Tyler Erb earns 11th win of 2024 at Tri-State Speedway

A busy week of racing for Tyler Erb culminated with a DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory on Sunday night at Tri-State Speedway with his Bulk Material Lift / Anthony’s Pizza No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports / Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors / First Class Septic / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

From the third-starting spot Tyler charged to the lead on the opening circuit and never looked back on his way to the $5,000 triumph, which marked his 11th win of the 2024 campaign.

“Our car’s been really good, our guy’s been working hard, we drove all night and it’s just fun,” Erb commented in Victory Lane on Sunday night. “I like this place, I haven’t been here in probably six or seven years and it’s just as cool as I remember it. This was a great race, a lot of fun for us, a good way to cap our week — we’ve had a long week.”

Best Performance Motorsports and Tyler Erb ventured north last Monday to compete with the XR Super Series at Proctor (Minn.) Speedway for the Superior Showcase opener.

With a fifth-place heat performance pinning him on the seventh row for the A-Main, Erb climbed two spots to finish 11th.

Back in action on Wednesday at Ogilvie (Minn.) Raceway, Tyler raced his way into the $50,000-to-win Minnesota Mega with runner-up showing in his heat race. Starting in eighth, Tyler improved three positions in the 50-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish.

After Thursday’s prelim fell to inclement weather, Erb’s northern swing continued on Friday with the NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.). Competing in a pair of preliminaries to make up for Thursday's rain out, Tyler followed up an eighth-place finish in the rescheduled feature with a fourth-place finish later Friday night.

On Saturday, Tyler earned his spot into the $50,000-to-win Gopher 50 with a second-place finish in his dash. Rolling off 10th for the 75-lapper, Erb marched forward seven positions to record a third-place finish. He joined Bobby Pierce and Brandon Sheppard on the podium.

Erb’s then visited Victory Lane on Sunday at Tri-State Speedway (Haubstadt, Ind.) during the 19th round of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour. From the third-starting spot he charged to the lead on the opening circuit and went on to record the flag-to-flag victory in the 30-lap feature to increase his 2024 win total to 11.

Tyler’s busy week drew to a close on Monday evening at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway, where he was competing with the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries. A third-to-second run in his heat race, positioned Erb fifth on the starting grid for the feature. He raced in the Top 5 early before mechanical issues caused him to draw a caution. After ducking into the pits for repairs he rejoined the tail of the field and rebounded to finish 14th.

He currently sits eighth in the latest miniseries standings.
