Ross Bailes cruises to another Cherokee Speedway victory in Grassy Smith Memorial
Racing ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, Ross Bailes unloaded the Joey Malone-owned No. 87 at his home track of Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Wednesday night for the Grassy Smith Memorial.
Qualifying third out of 27 Mid-East Super Late Models, Bailes led flag-to-flag in his heat race which earned him a starting position on the inside of the second-row. Stalking Chris Ferguson in the early stages of the feature, Bailes took the top spot on lap 17 and stretched his lead out to over 10 seconds. Ross dominated the remainder of the A-Main and collected $10,000 for his efforts.
