Mo Bags takes on DIRTcar Summer Nationals in Arkansas
Team 14 and driver Morgan Bagley raced at two familiar tracks in Arkansas during Week 4 of this year’s Hell Tour with stops at Old No. 1 Speedway in Harrisburg and Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis.
On Tuesday, Bagley was one of an impressive 42 DIRTcar Late Model drivers to unload a car at the quarter-mile Old No. 1 Speedway in search of a $10,000 winner’s check. After narrowly missing a transfer spot in his heat race, Bagley piloted his Precision Trailers No. 14M to victory in the Last Chance Showdown to lock himself into the 40-lap A-Main. He started from the 17th position and was running 12th when problems ended his race. He posted a 21st-place result.
Rain washed away Wednesday’s scheduled event at Benton (Missouri) Speedway, meaning the DIRTcar Summer Nationals contingent next hit the track on Independence Day at Riverside for a show featuring 39 Super Late Models. Bagley nabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat on the quarter-mile gumbo oval, starting him 16th in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He picked up three spots and finished 13th at “The Ditch.”
Bagley had also originally intended to race on Friday at Kentucky’s Paducah International Speedway and Clarksville (Tennessee) Speedway on Saturday. However, he and his team elected to forego the events to instead go through the car, make repairs, and be ready for the rest of the 2024 season.
