Podium finish in Southern Iowa's Malvern Bank East Series event
Kyle Berck got an early start to his busy race week with a trip to Southern Iowa Speedway (Oskaloosa, Iowa) on Wednesday afternoon for the Malvern Bank East Series sanctioned contest.
Aboard his Speedee Mart sponsored No. 14 Late Model, Berck clocked in fourth-fastest in his time trial group before going fifth-to-third in his heat race. Moving forward again in the A-Main, Kyle took the green in sixth and advanced to a third-place finish in the 25-lapper. He joined Chad Holladay and Jeff Tharp on the podium.
Following Thursday’s rain out at Cresco (Iowa) Speedway and Friday’s scheduled visit to Fayette County Speedway (West Union, Iowa), Kyle concluded his weekend with the Gail and Karen Hampel Memorial on Saturday at Adams County Speedway (Corning, Iowa). After storming to an impressive win in his heat race from the second row, Berck suffered distributor issues while leading early in the feature that brought a disappointing end to his weekend.
