Bagley grabs top-10 finishes during Hell Tour Week 3

Morgan Bagley and Team 14 raced on four straight nights from Thursday through Sunday during the third week of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, making starts at a quartet of Illinois tracks.

Bagley began his Land of Lincoln tour on Thursday with the Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway. With 23 DIRTcar Late Models at the 1/5-mile oval, Bagley set the quickest time in his group qualifying session aboard his P&W Sales No. 14M machine. He went on to grab the runner-up spot in his heat race and began the 100-lap, $7,500-to-win feature from the eighth spot. He led laps 76 to 84 and was running second when an accident relegated him to the back with just eight circuits remaining. However, he climbed to an eighth-place finish.

On Friday, it was off to Farmer City Raceway for a $10,000-to-win program that brought 34 Super Late Models to the quarter-mile speed plant. Mo Bags just missed a transfer spot in his heat as he took the checkered flag fifth. He then finished fourth in the Last Chance Showdown, ending his evening before the 40-lap A-Main.

Saturday saw the DIRTcar Summer Nationals move to Highland Speedway, where Bagley was part of a 28-car field competing for another $10,000 top prize. After eighth-place results in both his heat and consolation races, Bagley rolled off 20th in the 40-lap feature on the quarter-mile track. He dropped one position and came home 21st.

Finally, the third week of the 39th annual Hell Tour ended with a trip to the 4/10-mile Red Hill Raceway in Sumner, Illinois, for a 17-car show on Sunday. Bagley claimed third in his heat and started fifth in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He turned in a sixth-place result.

The fourth week of the 2024 DIRTcar Summer Nationals kicks off on Tuesday with a trip to Old No. 1 Speedway in Harrisburg, Arkansas.
