Pair of Top 5's for Schrader

Ken Schrader entered a pair of events last week and came away with two Top-5 finishes to show for his efforts.

On Tuesday evening he was in action at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway, where he took part in the POWRi B-Mod division. Twenty-six drivers took part in the program, and Ken began his night with a second-place finish in his heat race. Starting fifth on the feature grid he advanced two spots to finish third behind Ryan Gillmore and James Thompson.

Schrader was back in the driver's seat on Sunday evening at Red Hill Raceway (Sumner, Ill.). Entering the DIRTcar Summer Nationals event, Ken squared off against a talented field of 33 racers.

Starting his night on a night note with the second-fastest time in his qualifying group, he won his heat race to lock into the second-starting spot for the main event. Battling the handle in the feature, he backed up to a seventh-place finish in the finale.
