Derek Groomer picks up win in Crate Late Model at Paragon Speedway
Friday afternoon saw Derek Groomer pull double duty in the Crate Late Model and UMP Modified divisions at Paragon (Ind.) Speedway for the Dave Peeden Memorial.
Starting the 20-lap Modified feature from the second-row, Groomer made up two positions to finish runner-up behind Brayden Watson. Picking up a heat race victory in the Late Model, Derek started the 30-lap main event from the pole and led flag-to-flag to score his second Late Model victory of the season.
Riding the momentum into Saturday's event at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway, Groomer started third in the Crate Late Model feature and scored a second-place finish.
