Jackson Hise tackles first week of Hell Tour with DIRTcar Summer Nationals
Making his first trip out to the Midwest, Jackson Hise joined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway on Wednesday night for the opening round of the Hell Tour.
Qualifying 10th-fastest in his group, Hise struggled to find speed in his heat race which relegated him a consolation race. Despite a hard charge to the front, going from 14th-to-5th, Jackson came up just a couple spots short of making the A-Main.
Thursday's $5,000-to-win event at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway was cancelled due to severe weather in the area.
Heading to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) on Friday for the first $10,000-to-win event of the week, Hise clicked off a strong lap in qualifying and started on the front row of a heat race. Picking up the final A-Main transfer spot, Jackson started 16th in the 40-lap feature and finished 17th.
Joining a week-high 49-car field at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday, Jackson struggled to find speed and found himself buried in a B-Main. Despite a hard charge to sixth-place, Hise came up a few spots short of making the main event.
Sunday's final event at Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Ill.) was also rained out after a late shower washed out the racetrack.
