Cade Dillard misses out on Dirt Late Model Dream after heat race incident

Chasing another $100,000 payday for the second weekend in a row, Cade Dillard checked into Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday afternoon for the 30th-annual Dirt Late Model Dream.

Laying down the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group, Dillard finished third in his heat race and earned a starting spot on the third-row. For the $25,000-to-win preliminary feature, Cade powered to a Top-10 finish in eighth.

With the lone preliminary night setting his heat race lineup for Saturday, Dillard was battling for a transfer position when he slapped the outside wall. Cade called it a night after assessing the damage.
