Drake Troutman tackles Appalachian Mountain Speedweek; finds victory lane in Jerry Foster Modified
Drake Troutman was in attendance for the first portion of Appalachian Mountain Speedweek as he kicked off the weekend on Friday evening at Clinton County Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) for the Sam Ray Memorial.
Leading the majority of the $5,000-to-win main event, Troutman was overtaken on the final lap and was forced to settle for the runner-up spot. He trailed Tyler Emory while Matt Cosner completed the podium.
On Saturday at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway, more bad luck plagued Drake as he was slated to start the 35-lap main event from the front-row until mechanical issues prevented him from making a full lap.
Hoping to put the bad luck behind him at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway on Sunday, Troutman managed a solid Top-5 finish in the $5,000 Super Late Model feature and picked up the victory in the UMP Modified feature. Troutman started eighth in the 20-lap feature and took the top spot on lap 7 as he outran Ray Kable and Glenn Elliot to the checkered flag.
Wrapping up things at Path Valley Speedway Park (Spring Run, Pa.) on Tuesday evening, Troutman started towards the rear of the A-Main and brought back a 15th-place finish.
