Dustin Sorensen fifth in $100,001-to-win Big Deal at Mississippi Thunder Speedway

Returning to his modified roots for the weekend, Dustin Sorensen joined a huge field of 145 entries at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) on Wednesday afternoon for the qualifying night with the ONUM Dirt Modifieds.

Placed in the second qualifying group, Sorensen clocked in third-fastest out of 24 cars. This earned him a spot in Friday's preliminary show.

Starting seventh in his heat race on Friday, Dustin made up three spots to finish fourth. Continuing his charge to the front, Sorensen stormed from 16th-to-third in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win preliminary feature.

For Saturday's $100,001-to-win main event, Sorensen started ninth and slowly moved his way into the Top-5. After a lengthy 100-lap feature, Dustin scored a Top-5 finish in fifth.
