Norton Raceway Park
Opening Day Results
Norton Raceway Park roared back to life with a spectacular grand opening, thrilling fans who had eagerly awaited the return of racing since 2022. The crowd, a vibrant sea of racing enthusiasts, packed the stands, their cheers echoing through the night as engines roared to life for the first time in two years. We want to thank our fans for coming out even with the threat of rain.
Here is a recap of the races from last night:
Bandolero Division: Chloe Mazzagatti's Victory
The Bandolero race set the tone for the night with Chloe Mazzagatti behind the wheel. Chloe took an early lead and never looked back. Continuing her dominance from the previous year, she crossed the finish line to secure an opening night win.
Trophy Stock Division: Noah Kaufman's Performance
Next up was the Trophy Stock race, where Noah Kaufman cruised to victory, leading all twelve laps of the feature. Kaufman displayed his happiness as the crowd cheered for him in Victory Lane.
Legends Division: Evan Finley's Smooth Drive
Evan Finley took center stage in the Legends race, weaving his way through the pack after starting in fifth place. He was able to withstand a few restarts en route to his first victory of the season.
Street Stock Division: Dennis Wood's Win
The Street Stock race was a showcase of raw power and skill, with Dennis Wood emerging as the victor. Dennis worked his way through the competitive field, winning the feature race by a close margin.
Modifieds Division: Sam Bigham's Show
Sam Bigham lit up the track in the Modifieds division, his car blazing a trail of speed. Bigham was able to take the checkered flag in first place, after a competitive battle through the first 15 laps.
Late Models Division: Mike Mazzagatti's Patient Display
Mike Mazzagatti, a crafty Late Model veteran, delivered a patient performance in the Late Models race. Battling with the #81 of Brendan Lushes and the #59 of Gary Whipkey throughout the race, Mazzagatti crossed the finish line first after a thrilling 30 laps of racing.
Compacts Division: Will Custer's Dominant Finish
The final race of the night saw Will Custer take the crown in the Compacts division. Will's race was smooth-sailing, taking the lead on lap 3 and he never looked back.
Our divisions next week will be: Bandos, Trophy Stocks, Legends, ACE Racing League, Compacts, Street Stocks, and Late Models
