Tifft makes World of Outlaws Late Models debut

Matt Tifft added to his extensive racing resume over the weekend when he made his first starts with the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Tfft kicked off a scheduled four days of competition on Thursday when his B’Laster Products No. 57 Super Late Model was one of 40 World of Outlaws entries at Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio. He claimed a ninth-place finish in his heat race on the 3/8-mile track and drove from ninth to sixth in his Last Chance Showdown. However, he came up three spots shy of making the 40-lap, $10,000-to-win feature in his first World of Outlaws event.

On Friday, Tifft planned to race in a weekly show at Lernerville Speedway in Pennsylvania, but the program fell to weather.

He rejoined the Outlaws at Marion Center Raceway on Saturday for the $15,000-to-win Connor Bobik Memorial. The event brought 54 entries to the quarter-mile oval in Marion Center, Pennsylvania. Tifft turned in a seventh-place result in his heat and an eighth-place finish in his Last Chance Showdown, ending his evening before the 50-lap main event.

Tifft wrapped up his weekend racing slate on Sunday evening at Erie, Pennsylvania's Eriez Speedway, where he competed for the weekly $2,000 top prize in a 24-car Super Late Model field. He drove to a runner-up result in his heat, putting him on the fourth row to start the A-Main on the 3/8-mile track. He slipped one spot in the 25-lap race and turned in an eighth-place finish.
