Nothdurft runner-up at Stuart Speedway; Top-5 with Malvern Bank East Series at Independence
Joining the series for their opening weekend, Blair Nothdurft rolled into Stuart (Iowa) Speedway on Friday afternoon for the $3,000-to-win Blackberry Brandy Brawl.
With 28 Malvern Bank East Series Late Models checked in, Nothdurft was victorious in his heat race which earned him the seventh-starting position. Moving forward late in the 25-lap feature, Blair came up one spot short of the win with a runner-up finish. He trailed race-winner Dylan Thornton while Tad Pospisil completed the podium.
Making his way to Independence (Iowa) Motor Speedway on Saturday, Blair was once again victorious in his heat race but with the invert started 14th in the $3,000-to-win main event. With only 30-laps to work with, Nothdurft passed nine competitors on his way to a Top-5 finish in fifth.
