Payton Freeman scores pair of podium finishes with Comp Cams at Batesville

Joining the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series for the weekend, Payton Freeman unloaded his Coltman Farms Racing No. F1 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.) for the first night of the Bad Boy 98.

With 41 Super Late Models checked in for the opener, Freeman qualified third-quickest in his group before slipping back one position in his heat to finish third. Rolling off 10th in the $5,000-to-win feature, Payton quickly made it into the Top-5 and snuck into the last podium spot when the checkered flag flew. He trailed Tyler Stevens and Stormy Scott while Billy Moyer and Brian Rickman completed the Top-5.

Charging forward to win his heat race on Saturday, Payton earned a second-row starting position for the $12,000-to-win finale. Running inside the Top-5 for the entirety of the extended 68-lap main event, Freeman earned his second podium in a row with a third-place outing. He trailed Stormy Scott and Spencer Hughes while Ashton Winger and Scott Crigler completed the Top-5.
