Austin Holcombe returns to victory lane with 602 Modified at Fayetteville Motor Speedway

Friday afternoon saw Austin Holcombe break out his 602 Modified at Carolina Speedway (Gastonia, N.C.) for the first leg of a doubleheader weekend.

Holcombe qualified on the pole for the 20-lap feature and led the first 19 laps before being the recipient of a tough slide-job on the last lap. Austin finished runner-up behind Derrick Ramey while Jeff Parsons completed the podium.

Pulling double duty at Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway on Saturday, Holcombe competed in both the 602 Modified and Pure Stock V8 division.

Austin charged forward in the Pure Stock feature but finished eighth after a mechanical failure forced him to pull in early. Topping the 13-Modified field in qualifying, Holcombe led all 20 laps to secure his fifth victory of the season.
