Pair of ninth-place finishes in Dairyland Showdown at Mississippi Thunder Speedway
After losing Thursday's opener to Mother Nature, Brian Shirley invaded Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) for a pair of $25,000-to-win shows with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.
With 34 Late Models checked in on Friday, Shirley stopped the clock second-quickest in his qualifying group before winning his heat race and pulling the lucky No. 1 in the redraw. Rolling off from the pole in the first 50-lap main event of the weekend, Brian led the first five laps before fading throughout the feature to finish just inside the Top-10 in ninth.
Finishing third in his heat race on Saturday, Shirley started 10th in the $25,000-to-win finale and finished inside the Top-10, recording his second-straight ninth-place finish.
Shirley is currently 10th in the World of Outlaw point standings.
