Second and fifth for Wenger at FCR and FALS
Prepping for an upcoming doubleheader with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), McKay Wenger competed at a pair of Illinois bullrings over the weekend aboard the Curless Motorsports No. 99 Longhorn Chassis Late Model.
On Friday night at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), Wenger followed up runner-up showing in his heat with a second-place finish in the 25-lap feature, chasing Garrett Alberson to the checkers.
For Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway’s season opener on Saturday, McKay’s sixth-to-fourth run in his heat race positioned him on the fourth row for the $2,500-to-win A-Main. Reeling in a Top-5 finish, Wenger climbed three spots to place fifth.
