Berry Jr. takes Independence IMCA Modified win

Upon his return from vacation this weekend, Tom Berry Jr. immediately traveled to Iowa’s Independence Motor Speedway to compete in the inaugural event of the IMCA Modified Summer Challenge Series on Monday evening. The R&R paid off as Berry topped a 44-car field to grab the $2,000 victory.

Berry started his evening strong at the 3/8-mile clay oval, charging from the seventh starting spot in his heat race to take the checkered flag aboard his Lethal Chassis No. 11x Modified. He then started on the pole in the 30-lap A-Main, and despite a fading tire, led every lap to take the win over Ethan Braaksma, Tim Ward, Joel Rust and Spencer Diercks.

The win was Berry’s sixth feature triumph overall in 2024.
