Holland grabs win at Hattiesburg
Success, Mississippi’s Chase Holland drove his Modified and Crate Late Model at a pair of Deep South tracks over the weekend, picking up one win and no finish worse than second.
On Friday, Holland and his Apex Fab & Equipment-backed No. 45 team stayed in the Magnolia State as they ventured to the quarter-mile Hattiesburg Speedway for a weekly show.
In the Modified class, Holland drove from seventh to second in his heat race, putting him on the front row for the 15-lap A-Main. He picked up one position to score his ninth feature victory of the year over Chase Shoemake, Chuck Roberts, Al Kouhout and John Carboni.
In the Crate Late Model, Holland started third in the 20-lap main event and turned in a runner-up finish to Shannon Lee. Ben Davis, K I Davis and Ronnie Graham completed the top five.
The next night, Holland and his crew traveled to Loxley, Alabama, where they competed with both cars at the 3/8-mile Deep South Speedway.
Holland finished second in his Modified heat and started from the second spot in the 15-lap A-Main. He drove to a runner-up result, taking the checkered flag 0.863 seconds behind Jade Luzenberg. Third place went to Hunter Breland, with Nicholas Siller and Justin Thomas finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Holland also set quick time in Crate Late Model qualifying, putting him on the pole for the 20-lap feature. After leading the first three circuits, Holland settled into second place and came home .626 seconds behind winner Luzenberg. Taylor Jarvis finished third, while Kevin Mitchell claimed the fourth spot and Joshua Arabie took fifth.
