Cory Hedgecock wins in 604 at I-75, third in Lil' Bill Corum Memorial at Tazewell
Friday night found Cory Hedgecock in action at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) pulling double duty in the Super and Crate Late Model ranks.
Despite an early exit in his Super Late Model heat that saw him scratch from his B-Main, Cory was able to park a customer’s car in victory lane in the Crate Late Model feature.
Piloting the Jonathan Ellison-owned No. 20J Late Model, Hedgecock grabbed the lead on lap 18 and led the final three circuits, en route to his first win of the season.
For the Lil' Bill Corum Memorial on Saturday at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.), Hedgecock stormed into the $21,000-to-win Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals sanctioned feature with a runner-up heat showing. Starting in sixth, Cory climbed three spots in the 75-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He chased race-long pacesetter Dale McDowell and Brandon Overton to the checkers.
