Sheppard finishes third in Nippy 50 finale at Maquoketa Speedway

For a doubleheader weekend in the Hawkeye State, Brandon Sheppard trekked to Maquoketa Speedway (Maquoketa, Iowa) on Friday to pilot his Longhorn Factory Team No. B5 Late Model for the inaugural Nippy 50.

Starting the $10,000-to-win opener in 10th via a fourth-place finish in his heat, Sheppard climbed five positions in the 40-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish.

On Saturday, Brandon got behind the eight-ball in time trials before rebounding with a sixth-to-third run in his heat. With a $20,000 top prize up for grabs in the Nippy 50 finale, Sheppard advanced forward six spots to finish third, chasing Ricky Thornton Jr. and Ryan Gustin across the line.
