Thompson earns top-10 finish at Beatrice

Cody Thompson returned to the track over the weekend to participate in the finale of the Spring Nationals at Nebraska’s Beatrice Speedway. He came away from the 3/8-mile oval with an eighth-place result in the IMCA Modified division.

After the event was delayed a week by rain, 20 Modified drivers were in the pit area on Saturday seeking a $2,500 first-place payday. Thompson claimed fifth in his heat race and began the A-Main from 13th on the grid. He climbed five positions in the 25-lap feature to come home in the eighth spot.
