Logan Zarin

Top-10 finish in DIRTcar Nationals prelim at Volusia

With Monday’s opener postponed midway through the program, Logan Zarin returned to Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Tuesday to pilot his All American Framers No. 1Z Late Model for the second round of the 53rd annual DIRTcar Nationals.

After a strong qualifying effort, Zarin lost ground in his heat and was never able to recover, ending the night with a ninth-place finish in his B-Main.

With the 48-car field split into three groups on Wednesday, Logan’s fourth-fastest lap in his group placed him on the second row of his prelim. Chasing the $5,000 top prize, Zarin rolled to a 10th-place finish.

On Thursday as the final three events turned World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series sanctioned, Zarin nearly raced into the $12,000-to-win prelim in his consolation event after losing ground in his heat. Starting in 10th, Logan vaulted forward five spots to register a fifth-place finish, missing a transfer spot by three cars.

Zarin’s night on Friday came to an early end after backing up a 12th-place finish in his heat with a 10th-place run in his B-Main

Saturday’s 53rd annual Federated DIRTcar Nationals finale fell to wet weather.
