Tristan Chamberlain ninth in DIRTcar Nationals feature at Volusia Speedway Park
Returning to Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) for the week-long DIRTcar Nationals, Tristan Chamberlain unloaded his HW Gibson Racing No. 20TC for the first night of action on Monday.
Following a ninth-place run in his heat race, rain showers moved into the area and postponed the remainder of the event to Wednesday. Later on in the week, Tristan would finish ninth in his Last Chance Showdown.
Picking up speed on Tuesday, Chamberlain laid down the second-fastest lap in qualifying before fading in his heat race to finish seventh. Tristan lined up on the second row of his LCS but lost power on the first lap resulting in a DNF.
Qualifying into the first $5,000-to-win feature of the night on Wednesday, Tristan recorded his first Top-10 finish of the year in ninth.
With the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series sanctioning the remainder of the weekend, Chamberlain was unable to make Thursday's or Friday's main events after eighth and ninth-place outings in his Last Chance Showdowns.
Saturday's $16,000-to-win DIRTcar Nationals finale was cancelled ahead of time with rough weather in the forecast.
Chamberlain currently sits 22nd in series points.
