Winger collects pair of Top-10 finishes in second week of Lucas Oil Speedweeks
Skipping out on Tuesday's competition, Ashton Winger rejoined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Wednesday night for the second night of the Winter Nationals at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway.
Clicking off the seventh-fastest lap in his group, Winger moved forward two spots in his heat to finish runner-up behind Blair Nothdrift. Rolling off from the third-row in the $10,000-to-win main event, Ashton remained inside the Top-10 and recorded a seventh-place finish.
Switching gears to All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) on Friday evening, Winger just missed the A-Main cut-off after a fourth-place outing in his B-Main.
Hoping for better luck in Saturday's finale, Winger stopped the clock second-fastest in qualifying before convincingly winning his heat race. Rolling off third in the $15,000-to-win main event, Ashton landed inside the Top-10 in sixth.
