Garrett Alberson kicks off Speedweeks with Lucas Oil at Golden Isles

Garrett Alberson and Roberts Motorsports opened up their 2024 Speedweeks at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) on Thursday afternoon with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the Super Bowl of Racing.

Joined by 50 other Late Models at the track, Alberson locked his spot in the A-Main with a third-place run in his heat. Moving forward five positions, Garrett placed 11th in the season opener.

With Friday's event lost to heavy rain showers, Alberson returned to the seat on Saturday where he stopped the clock 10th-quickest in his group. After grabbing the final transfer spot in his heat, Garrett recorded a 13th-place outing in the 60-lap, $25,000-to-win finale.
