WISSOTA Late Models set to Invade the Valley on May 11

Last August, for the first time in 30 years, the Bullring Blast! brought Late Models to St. Croix Valley Raceway. The event left both fans and drivers wanting more. To that end, The Valley has decided to double the fun in 2013 by hosting two Late Model specials, with Bullring Blast! #1 on tap for Saturday, May 11 and Bullring Blast! #2 on August 30 at The Valley.

“The Bullring Blast was one of the most exciting events of the 2012 SCVR season; I can’t wait to have the late models back!” exclaimed track co-owner Ron Bernhagen. Indeed, last summer’s Late Model special thrilled the crowd with two and three wide racing and multiple lead changes. Jake Redetzke ended the night as the inaugural champion, and a bevy of WISSOTA late model pilots are eager to dethrone the Eau Claire, Wisconsin, hot shoe later this spring. Drivers attending last season’s event universally raved about the raciness of the track, and the buzz pitside was a strong urge to come back for more!

A second late model special is also scheduled later in the summer: Bullring Blast! #2 will be held on Friday, August 30. The winner of each event will cash a check for $1200 and all starters will receive $100. A-Mods will be part of both Bullring Blast! events as well, running for $750 to win each night. Additionally, any Late Model or A Mod team attending both events will receive two free dinners, compliments of St. Croix Valley Raceway.

The Valley opens its season with a Test and Tune session; open to all cars, on Thursday, April 25, followed by racing action the next night, Friday, April 26, featuring the UMSS winged sprint cars. The Bullring Blast! follows just two weeks later, on Saturday, May 11. Updates for this event can be found on the track’s Facebook page as they become available and a full schedule is posted on St. Croix Valley Raceway website, www.SCVRaceway.com.
