Jake O'Neil kicks off 2024 in Late Model at Vado Speedway Park
Jake got his 2024 season underway this weekend piloting the Dallas Caldwell-owned #51 Super Late Model on the opening weekend of the Wild West Shootout at the Vado Speedway Park in Vado, NM on Saturday and Sunday nights.
Saturday, we had an issue in qualifying, which put us behind the eight ball for the night, but it ended up being a good night to shake down the car. We were able to race from 11th up to 8th in our heat race and then ran ninth in the night's b-main.
Sunday went much better, qualifying 6th in our group, then racing to a 4th place finish in our heat race before starting 16th and finishing 14th in the night's feature race to cap off the weekend.
