Tyler Clem scores Late Model victory in Reutimann Memorial at Volusia
Tyler Clem returned to the driver’s seat of the Big Frog Motorsports No. C02 Late Model on Friday at Needmore Speedway (Norman Park, Ga.) for the Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned Early Bird 50.
Amongst a stout field of 41 cars, Clem backed up the ninth-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a sixth-place finish in his heat, relegating him into a consolation race on Saturday.
After the crew discovered an engine issue overnight, Tyler and the team trekked to Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Saturday to compete in the 604 Late Model portion of the Emil & Dale Reutimann Memorial. With his qualifying effort placing him on the front row for the feature, Clem led flag-to-flag in the 20-lapper to secure his second win of the season in the Big Frog Motorsports-backed No. C02 entry. He earned a $2,000 payday ahead of Nevin Gainey, Johnny Collins, Trynt Lloyd, and Jordan Yawn.
