Mitchell wraps up 2023 CCSDS slate at Super Bee
Jon Mitchell and his No. 5 team took on Super Bee Speedway (Chatham, Louisiana) on Friday and Saturday as the curtain descended on the 2023 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) season with the 30th annual Spooky 50.
On Friday, 25 CCSDS Super Late Models were at the quarter-mile track. Mitchell finished fourth in his heat and rolled off 12th in the night’s 40-lap, $5,000-to-win main event. He conceded one spot in the race and came home 13th.
The next night, 27 CCSDS competitors were on the property for the event finale paying $10,000 to the victor. Mitchell registered a third-place result in his heat race, putting him eighth on the grid for the 50-lap feature. He improved one spot from the previous night and finished in 12th place.
Mitchell, the 2012 CCSDS champion, concluded the season seventh in the series point standings.
