Hard-charging Bagley finishes fifth in Billy Melton Memorial
Morgan Bagley made a surprise appearance at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) on Friday evening aboard the IRP Racecars No. 87 USRA Modified for the two-day Transmissions Unlimited Billy Melton Memorial.
With a pair of heat races on Friday setting the stage for Saturday’s main event, Bagley experienced issues early in his first heat that sidelined him but was able to rebound with a victory in his second heat race.
Transferring into a B-Main on Saturday, Morgan raced into the $3,087-to-win A-Main with a fifth-place finish. Wheeling his way into the Top-5 in the feature, Bagley charged through the field 12 spots in the 30-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. He followed Jason Ingalls, Chris Henigan, James McCreery, and Chase Halton across the line.
