Hard-charging Erb finishes third in Hoosier Dirt Classic at Brownstown
Back in action at the Indiana oval, Tyler Erb and the Best Performance Motorsports team returned to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) on Friday for the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series-sanctioned Hoosier Dirt Classic.
In a field of 42 cars, Erb edged his way into the opener with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Chasing a $10,000 top prize, Tyler advanced through the field 13 spots to register an impressive third-place finish. He trailed Bobby Pierce and Chris Madden to the checkers in the 40-lapper.
For the unsanctioned Fall 40 on Saturday at Mudlick Valley Raceway (Wallingford, Ky.), Tyler’s runner-up run in his heat race positioned him on the second row for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Erb was up to second by lap 15 and nearly nosed ahead of race-long leader R.J. Conley in the final five circuits before ultimately crossing the line in second.
