Bryan Bernheisel notches third-place finish at Georgetown Speedway

With the event shifted back a day due to wet weather and saturated grounds at the half-mile oval, both Bryan and Jim Bernheisel invaded Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.) on Sunday afternoon for the 51st running of the Camp Barnes Benefit Race.

Bryan raced into the feature with a convincing heat race victory while Jim’s sixth-place result pinned him on the sixth row for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Grabbing the lead from his fourth-starting position on lap eight of the feature, Bryan led the ensuing nine circuits before a charging Kyle Hardy stole the top spot. He went onto place third in the 30-lapper, chasing Hardy and Ross Robinson to the checkers with Donald Lingo Jr. and Rick Eckert rounding out the top-five. Jim was sidelined while running sixth after experiencing engine issues.
