Linville scores $5,000 Damn Yankees 50 triumph at Richmond Raceway
Making another start behind the wheel of the Jeremy Thomasson-owned No. 39 Crate Late Model, Dustin Linville traveled to Richmond (Ky.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the Damn Yankees 50 weekend with the Fastrak Racing Series.
With 33 Late Models in the pits, Linville finished fifth in his heat race after getting caught up in an accident. Rolling off from the 17th-position in the Prelude to the Damn Yankee, Dustin stormed through the field and wound up on the podium in third. He trailed Josh Dietz and David Pangrazio while Jason Barrett and Jeremy Pilkerton completed the Top-5.
With the $5,000-to-win finale slated for Saturday, Dustin placed runner-up in his heat which landed him a third row starting position in the main event. Slowly moving his way towards the front in the 50-lap feature, Linville took the lead in dramatic fashion with just five laps to go. Leading the last few circuits, Linville topped David Pangrazio and Tommy Bailey for the $5,000 payday.
