McKay Wenger lands top-10 finish at FALS
Tuesday saw McKay Wenger return to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the eighth round of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries.
Drawing a stout field of 31 cars for the track’s annual One for the Road event, Wenger’s sixth-place finish in his heat pinned him on the ninth row for the $23,023-to-win A-Main. He was scored 20th in the final rundown after pulling pitside on lap 25.
Back at quarter-mile oval on Saturday for the MARS Championship Series sanctioned contest, McKay followed up the fifth-fastest qualifying lap in his time trial group with an eight-lap heat race victory. Chasing a $5,000 payday in main event, Wenger posted a sixth-place finish in the 40-lap affair.
