Ryan Unzicker third in Brownstown 100 at Brownstown Bullring
For an early week event with the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries, Ryan Unzicker made the short trip to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on the Tuesday for the track’s annual One for the Road.
With 31 Late Models entered, Unzicker took a provisional into the $23,023-to-win A-Main after missing a transfer spot by one car in his B-Main. Moving forward seven spots in the 50-lap affair, Ryan posted a 14th-place finish.
Back in action on Friday, Ryan rolled into Brownstown Bullring (Brownstown, Ill.) for the MARS Championship Series-sanctioned Brownstown 100. Chasing a $10,000 top prize in the opening leg of the doubleheader weekend, Unzicker followed up a runner-up showing in his heat with a sixth-to-third run in the feature.
On Saturday evening at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Unzicker’s third-place finish in his heat positioned him on the fourth row for the weekend finale. With $5,000 on the line, Ryan advanced forward four spots to register a third-place finish, which came behind Jason Feger and Dennis Erb Jr.
Ryan is currently second in the latest MARS Championship Series point standings.
