Logan Martin records pair of Top-10 finishes in Illinois with MARS
Heading North to the Land of Lincoln, Logan Martin invaded Brownstown (Ill.) Bullring on Friday afternoon for the Brownstown 100 with the MARS Championship Series.
Going against a stout 35-car field, Martin qualified sixth-quickest in his group before nabbing the final transfer spot in his heat race. With a $10,000 paycheck on the line, Logan moved forward from his 15th-place starting position and wound up ninth when the checkered flag flew.
The following evening at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway, Logan laid down the second-fastest lap in his group but dealt with mechanical issues which prevented him from starting his heat race. Starting 11th in his B-Main, Martin stormed through the field and picked up the victory which placed him on the ninth-row for the 40-lap main event. Once again charging through the field, Logan recorded a Top-10 finish in eighth in the $5,000-to-win feature.
