Best finish of 3rd at Kokomo for Chase Holland in Labor Day weekend Midwest swing

Mississippi native Chase Holland continued his late-summer racing tour of the Midwest for three days during the Labor Day holiday weekend, hitting tracks in both Illinois and Indiana.

On Friday, Holland and his MB Customs No. 45 Modified team took on Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) for a $2,000-to-win, 39-car strong Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) Modified program. Holland finished second in his heat on the quarter-mile track, starting him eighth in the 30-lap A-Main. He came home with a 12th-place result.

The following evening, Holland moved to the quarter-mile Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) where he was one of 41 MARS Modified competitors on hand as part of the Triple Down Shootout. He finished eighth in his heat race and advanced from seventh to third in his B-Feature, but came up one position shy of transferring to the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win main event.

Holland left the Land of Lincoln on Sunday and entered the Hoosier State, where he was among 36 DIRTcar UMP Modified competitors at Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Indiana) for the quarter-mile oval’s championship night.

Holland was quickest in his qualifying group and took the third finishing position in his heat race. He then steered from 11th to third in the 20-lap A-Main, taking the last spot on the podium behind Curt Spalding and Todd Sherman. Nick Allen and Tyler Spalding rounded out the top five.
