Bailes fourth in Butterball Memorial at Richmond Raceway
Heading to Richmond (Ky.) Raceway during a busy weekend of racing, Ross Bailes piloted the Larry Grube-owned No. 29 Barry Wright ICON for the 36th running of the Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial.
With 31 Ultimate Heart of America Series entries on the grounds for the two-day event, Ross started his heat race from the fourth-position and secured his spot in the main event after picking up the victory.
Starting from the second row in the $20,059-to-win feature on Saturday evening, Bailes fell outside the Top-5 at the halfway point of the 59-lap event but rallied to finish inside the Top-5 in fourth when the checkered flag flew. He trailed Ricky Weiss, Tyler Carpenter, and James Rice while Dustin Linville completed the Top-5.
