McKay Wenger doubles down at Farmer City and Fairbury
Friday found McKay Wenger in action at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) aboard his Popejoy Plumbing & Heating No. 42 Late Model for another round of Friday Night Lights.
Pulling off a clean sweep of the program, McKay followed up the fastest lap in time trials with a dominating victory in both his heat and the feature. He won by more than a five second margin to claim a $1,000 payday and his second win of the 2023 campaign.
On Saturday afternoon at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Wenger outdueled fellow front-row starter Mike Spatola in his heat to pick up the eight-lap win. Grabbing the lead late in the 30-lap feature, McKay raced to the $2,500 FALS Cup victory, which came ahead of Spatola, Jason Wagner, Mike Mataragas, and Lyle Zanker. Wenger notched his second win in as many nights and his 45th career win in the Super Late Model ranks.
