Troutman follows World of Outlaws to Boone and Cedar Lake
Drake Troutman was back with World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Tuesday as the series drew 28 competitors to Boone Speedway (Boone, Iowa) for the Hawkeye 100.
After getting off to a solid start with the fifth-fastest qualifying lap in his group, Troutman was penalized for jumping the start in his heat, relegating him to ninth in the finishing order. Buried deep in his B-Main, Drake elected to scratch from the remainder of the program.
Rejoining the World of Outlaws on Thursday, Drake was one of 48 cars entered at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) for the 36th annual USA Nationals weekend. Following a third-place run in his heat, Troutman was an early retiree from the 25-lap preliminary feature on the 11th circuit.
For another $6,000-to-win prelim on Friday, Troutman timed in third-fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Starting on the ninth row for the A-Main, Drake shuffled a few spots early before crossing the line in 17th.
Rolling off third in his B-Main on Saturday for another shot at the $50,000-to-win USA Nationals, Drake was sidelined on the third lap of the 15-lap consolation race.
