Justin Duty continues season with MARS at Davenport, World of Outlaws at Fairbury
Double Duty Motorsports driver Justin Duty took on two stout Dirt Late Model tours over the past week, kicking off with the Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) stop at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Tuesday evening.
Duty’s Don Frank Floors No. 15 car was one of 24 MARS entries at the quarter-mile track where $10,000 was up for grabs in the Hoker 50. After finishing fifth in his heat, Duty rolled off 13th for the 50-lap main event. Despite being unable to complete all the laps, Duty still advanced two positions to register an 11th-place finish.
Duty and his team then traveled to the quarter-mile Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) over the weekend to compete with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in the 63-car strong Prairie Dirt Classic event.
On Friday, Duty started 15th in the second of four Prairie Dirt Feature Showdowns and marched forward five positions to come home 10th in the 25-lap, $5,000-to-win race.
However, Duty was unable to lock himself into the weekend’s finale paying $50,000 to win, putting him in a Last Chance Showdown on Saturday. Duty drove from eighth to fifth, but with only two drivers advancing from each of the three showdown races, he moved into the Prairie Dirt Shootout. Only the winner had the chance to advance to the night's 100-lap main event. Duty started and finished seventh, concluding his weekend.
