Bagley grabs top 10 in CCSDS stop at Poplar Bluff
Morgan Bagley recently wrapped up his July slate with four races in three states, scoring a best finish of seventh.
The action kicked off early in the week, as Mo Bags and his Team 14 crew traveled to the 1/3-mile Off Road Speedway (Norfolk, Nebraska) for the two-day XR Super Series Elkhorn 100. Twenty-eight cars were on the property for Monday’s preliminary action, which saw Bagley finish seventh in his heat aboard his Billy Bob’s Repair & Tire No. 14M Late Model. He advanced two positions from his 14th-place starting spot in the second of the night’s two 25-lap, $5,000-to-win features to take a 12th-place finish.
With 27 entries on hand for Tuesday’s $100,000-to-win finale, Bagley came home ninth in his B-Feature and started shotgun on the field for the 100-lap A-Main. He advanced several spots early, but was ultimately unable to finish and was scored with a 24th-place result.
After two days off, on Friday evening Bagley hit the track with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) at Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park (Poplar Bluff, Missouri). Thirty-five CCSDS Late Models filled the pit area at the 3/8-mile oval. Bagley took third in his heat race and began the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win A-Main from ninth place. He picked up two positions to record a solid seventh-place finish.
On Saturday, Bagley was one of 34 entrants for the CCSDS Hillbilly 40 at the 3/8-mile Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas). He claimed the last transfer spot into the night’s slated 40-lap main event with a fourth-place result in his heat. However, an unexpected downpour postponed the conclusion of the event. The makeup date is Thursday, August 17, as part of the COMP Cams Topless 100.
Bagley is currently fifth in the CCSDS point standings.
