Bagley continues season with Silver Dollar Nationals
Morgan Bagley and Team 14 traveled north to Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, South Dakota) over the weekend to take part in three days of competition with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at the 13th annual Silver Dollar Nationals presented by MyRacePass.
The event kicked off on Thursday with 36 LOLMDS competitors in the pit area for the Go 50 at the 3/8-mile speed plant. Bagley steered his P&W Sales No. 14M ride to a fourth-place finish in his heat, lining him up 13th for the night’s 50-lap A-Main. He ultimately came home 16th in the $12,000-to-win race.
Rain the following evening shifted the night’s scheduled Silver Dollar Nationals preliminary action to Saturday afternoon. With 33 cars in the pit area and passing points up for grabs in dual heat races, Bagley finished third in his first heat and seventh in his contact-filled second.
Unable to lock into the night’s 80-lap, $53,000-to-win main event by being among the top 16 in passing points, Bagley took part in one of two 12-lap B-Mains that evening. He finished fourth, coming up one position shy of a transfer spot.
Bagley concluded his weekend with a runner-up effort in the 10-lap Non-Qualifiers race, again narrowly missing out on the transfer spot awarded to the winner.
