Garrett Alberson sixth in LOLMDS stop at Davenport Speedway

Back in action on Monday, Roberts Motorsports and Garrett Alberson unloaded the Roemer Machine & Welding No. 58 Late Model at Dubuque Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa) for the XR Super Series-sanctioned Dubuque Key City Clash.

Sneaking into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with a fourth-place finish in his heat, Alberson was pinched by another competitor while entering a turn that resulted in a right-rear flat. He retired on lap six.

For the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned contest on Tuesday at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa), Garrett followed up the sixth-fastest qualifying lap in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Alberson gained one spot in the 40-lap affair to register a sixth-place finish.

With Friday’s NAPA Know How 50 falling to wet weather early in the event, Alberson wrapped up the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series weekend on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the 17th annual CMH Diamond Nationals. Resorting to a provisional into the $15,000-to-win A-Main after missing a transfer spot by one car in his B-Main, Garrett capped off the weekend by passing eight cars to finish 15th.

Sitting in 12th in the latest LOLMDS point standings, Garrett earned $1,000 bonus money for qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment Super Twelve.
