McKay Wenger eighth in Hell Tour stop at Farmer City Raceway
McKay Wenger unloaded his Creative Kitchens & Baths No. 42 Late Model at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) on Friday afternoon for the 18th round of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour.
Drawing a stout field of 44 DIRTcar Late Models, McKay laid down the fifth-fastest lap in his time trial group before placing third in his heat. Chasing a $10,000 payday in the feature, Wenger clawed forward one spot in the 40-lap affair to finish eighth.
With overnight rain making for heavy track conditions for the Bob Harty Memorial on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Wenger flipped violently in turns one and two on the first lap of his time trial session that brought an immediate end to his night. He was able to walk away under his own power.
