Seventh-place finish in NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 at Deer Creek
Taking part in the 44th annual NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50, Roberts Motorsports and Garrett Alberson made the haul to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) to kick off the three-day event with a pair of prelims on Thursday and Friday leading up to Saturday’s finale.
With a third-place finish in his heat race positioning him 12th on the starting grid Thursday’s opener, Garrett gained one spot in the 25-lap affair to finish 11th.
On Friday, Alberson snuck into the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature with a third-place finish in his B-Main after missing a transfer spot in his heat. He faded one position place 22nd.
With preliminary results locking him on the eighth row for Saturday’s $50,000-to-win NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 finale, Garrett charged forward eight spots in the 100-lap finale to cap off the weekend with a seventh-place finish.
Garrett remains 12th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
